Fishy FA(Q)cts

In 1999/03/18, Paul J. Hider, a regular puzzler at "alt.brain.teasers", proposed to
give a certain fixed answer to the famous Gry-puzzle. This in the hope that
new posters would read the newsgroup for a few weeks before posting a
puzzle that is very old, and boring for the regulars. Below you find
a few nice puzzles which have since arisen as a result of this
perplexing but funny "fishy answer" phenomenon .

8. There once was a man named George. George had a chicken, a wolf and a bag of corn that he wanted to get back home. As he was travelling, he came to a river and noticed that on the other side of the river there were 3 light bulbs, each corresponding to a switch on his side of the river. He wanted to get the animals across one at time, without losing any of them,  while minimizing the number of trips it would take to find out which light bulb was connected to which switch. The quandary made him nervous, so he began to smoke. He had 10 cigarettes and could make a new one out of every 3 butts. When he finally solved the problem and crossed the river, he continued on a road that had no beginning and no end but stopped three times and disappeared twice. On one of those stops, he stumbled upon three men sitting in a row of chairs, one in front of another. Each was wearing a hat and there were two hats in a box on the ground. Each of the hats was either black or white. The first man was angry, which in ends in “gry”. The second man was hungry, which ends in “gry.” The third man said “there are 3 words in the English language. What is the third word. And by the way – I know what color my hat is!” George laughs at these three men and decides to tie them up with power lines and plumbing pipes. He intends to have each of them tied by a power line and connect that to pipe, but he doesn’t want to cross any pipes or power lines. This done, George continues on and walks 4 miles South, 4 miles East, 4 miles North, and ends up back where he was. At about that same time he shoots a bear, which just so happens to be the same color as the third man’s hat. Now, since he’s left home, George has made 3 left turns. When he gets back home there are two men wearing masks.  George slides underneath one of the men and keeps running all the way back to his boat. His boat floats on a river that  runs one direction and flows another. When he arrives, he finds that his boat (The H.I.S. PUZZLE) is full of fish.

There are two types of fish in his boat. What kind of fish are they? How many of each type?
